Experience a very rare and beautiful environmental watering event!

The Gunbower Forest is in flood and the only access is via kayaks.

The current flooding is part of an environmental water release that is offering the forest a beautiful amount of water each day, over the next couple of months.

This is a very rare flooding event and you can take a professional Eco Tour through one of the healthiest wetlands in the entire forest; Come and paddle the REEDY LAGOON with the experts.

Reedy Lagoon is one of the healthiest wetlands in Gunbower Forest in terms of the diversity of wetland plants, habitat for small-bodied native fish and a haven for waterbirds.

Join us on a very intimate ECO Tour with only 4 paddlers on the tour.

“This wetland is an important one on the Murray floodplain – it remains
largely natural and supports a diverse range of wetland plants – setting
it apart from other wetlands along the Murray. Additionally, the
delivery of environmental water will provide important drought refuge
for birds, fish and frogs,”

Sydney Harbour Kayaks and Murray River Adventures are one of Australia's largest kayaking operations and manage a fleet of beautiful Mirage Sea Kayaks. These high end kayaks will make your time out in the forest that much more enjoyable.

Join me on a fully guided kayaking Eco Tour through this amazing waterway. A lovely morning tea is included. The guided tour will be about 2 1/2 hours.

NOTE: For this tour, we will all meet 30 minutes before the tour at the parking lot at the Cohuna Information Centre. We will then all drive out to Reedy Lagoon together.
